A couple days ago, an Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at President Bush. Of course, the news quickly propagated on Twitter. I laughed at Bryce’s pithy comment and quickly added my own:

Zappos must have appreciated the joke because their CEO retweeted it (to over 24,000 people). From there, several other people retweeted it as well. Once I noticed how quickly it spread, I tried to find out why. Well, it turns out that Zappos has a dodgeball team!?!
Before the day was over, a Zappos employee posted this commercial, Joy Tomme blogged about it, and Letterman even joked about it.
These days, word travels fast.
